Extremely Poor Service and Conditions
General information: My name is Ava Price. I was a guest in your Lewisville, TX EconoLodge hotel this past weekend, September 9-11, 2016. I have spoken to and filed my complaint with one of your customer service representatives named Prim. Just a re-cap of the complaint. On my reservation confirmation, it indicated I could check in as early and 1:00pm and to contact the hotel if I would be later. I contacted the hotel and informed the gentleman that I would be arriving between 3:00pm and 4:00pm on September 9. He never asked me for my name or reservation information but did say I didn't need to worry and my reservations would still be good. I arrived at the hotel at 3:08pm on September 9, to be told that my room would not be ready for another 10 minutes. I sat in my car until 3:20pm walked into the hotel and asked where was the elevator to be told there isn't one. When I got to my room, Rm 219. the door was wide open and there wasn't anyone in the room. The room had not been cleaned. when I went down to the desk, the young lady informed me that it would be a little longer of a wait because all of the chambermaids had gone to lunch. When asked how long would they be at lunch, the young lady said she wasn't sure, they'd just began their lunch. The young lady at the desk then wanted to put me in a room until my room would be ready. I did inform her that, "after my 8 hour drive i was ready to rest and get ready for the event I came to this city for and that event was not to just sit around the hotel moving from room to room. She finally did offer me another room that was ready and said she would discount the cost of my stay. But all she really did was charge me for the room she put me in and not the room I originally reserved. Therefore, she really didn't compensate anything. As I looked around the room and checked it out, as I do in any hotel I visit, I noticed several things and decided to call corporate to file a complaint. The items as follows: 1. refrigerator not defrosted. 2. handles on the vanity broken and second drawer didn't close 3. couldn't control the air conditioning setting because of missing nob 4. noticed there wasn't a iron and board in the room yet an iron print on the floor 5. went to call to request an iron and board to find the room phone wasn't working 6. While I was holding to file my complaint, for 30 minutes, I went downstairs to get the iron and was not greeted politely. 7. The iron then leaked water all over my clothes. 8. When I returned the iron and tried to report the broken phone, I was handle very nonchalantly. The iron was taken from me and she walked away as i was trying to tell her about the phone. 9. When leaving the hotel that evening, we noticed a toilet in the hall. 10. The carpet was wet in the halls and the stairs because they were cleaning it and extracting the water from it. I almost slipped on the tile floor because of the wetness on my shoes That was all on Friday within an hour of my arrival. Saturday, September 10, 2016 1. Breakfast is supposed to be available from 6:30am to 9:30am. I went down stairs for breakfast at 7:30am and there wasn't anything left for breakfast. 2. I left and returned approximately 2:00pm and my room had not been cleaned. 3. When I left the room again at 3:45pm, I asked the chambermaid to put extra towels in the room when she cleans. She said, ok. 4. Upon my return to the room after 11:00pm, I noticed the room had not been cleaned and we were only given bath towels, no face towels (wash cloths). Sunday, September 11, 2016 1. I went down to put my things in my car and to eat breakfast at 6:35am. 2. There wasn't any breakfast out. 3. Upon returning to the building, the gentleman was placing 1 dozen of donuts in the case. That was all that was available. I went to the room to get the rest of my belongings and there wasn't anything left for breakfast when I returned. not even an hour went by. 4. I was initially questioned by the gentleman as to why my rate was changed, and before I could say anything he said, "oh, I see. Thanks for staying with us." 5. I had to ask for my receipt.
